The chickens still seem to be taking a summer sabatical from laying eggs, we're going to try giving them garlic and yoghurt, in an attempt to get more than 2 eggs a day from 9 chickens!

Uk summer '10

We had a great family duck race on the river in Middleton.

The ducks were released at the starting line and Granny fished out them out at the finish line.

Numbers on the ducks and prizes for the winner, do try this at home!!

We had a trip on a steam train from Alston, it was a great day out.

After the holiday with C's family we went straight to England to visit my family.

Viking museum

Here are some vikings making wooden bowls and utensils.

We made some flat breads and cooked them over the fire. We also had viking juice; apple juice mixed with cinnamon, vanilla and elderflower, it was really tasty.

The vikings mostly lived, ate and slept in the one room.

We visited a really great viking museum in Bork.

Here are Alfie and Molly at the viking play area.

Inside a viking house, Molly tried the viking baby chair.

4 families would have slept in this room, a family of 4 in each of the beds, and these were the head families!

Viking enthusiasts worked in the museum living as vikings 24/7. We chatted to some vikings who came from Gremany and were at the museum for their holidays, they spent 2 weeks living as vikings in a tent with no mod cons at all.

3 little rascals on the beach. The beach was great, lots of sand and small waves.

Christian spotted 2 porpoises in the water too, very exciting

One night, Alfie stayed up very late and ate pancakes with Aunts Lotte and Hanne.

He loved that!

Summer holidays

We've just had 3 weeks of holidays : )

The first week we were in a summer house on the west coast of Denmark with Christian's extended family.

More children came later on in the week which was nice.

BBQ outside, we had gorgeous weather all week.
