Snow globes

We had a day off last Friday so we made some snow globes...

It was super easy and the kids loved it.
1. Clean and wash jam jars.
2.Superglue plastic figures/toys to the underside of jam jar lid.

3. Wait for glue to dry. Here's molly picking out glitter while waiting.

We recommend eating cinnamon buns while waiting ; )

4. Mix one teaspoon of glycerin with a jar of water.

5. Add some glitter.

6. Screw the lid on and add some tape to seal the jar.

7. Watch it snow : )

Preparations for December!

Alfie picked out our tree for the courtyard from the christmas trees we have by the strawberry patch.
There are only a few smallish ones left now but I planted 3 saplings last year....

The pipe which the tree sits in had been predictably filled up with sticks and stones!

Ta dah, the tree looks very pretty now with lights on, photo of that will follow!

Happy Halloween!

It was late night halloween opening in our local town on Friday, we went to buy winter boots
and got free candy floss : )

You could ride a pumpkin!

Carving our pumpkins,
we drew ghosts, bats etc on the small decorative pumpkins with permanant marker.

They weren't too scary!

There isn't the big halloween tradition on denmark, only once have we had some trick or treaters!
So it's just pumpkins, decorations and halloween stories here.
Happy Halloween!

Chicken news

We've got some new chickens..

they were very difficult to catch, we've had alot of fun with them!

Farfar had made a great new chicken house/tractor so we can move the chickens around the garden and field.

You can collect the eggs from outside but some people prefer to go all the way inside ; )

Rennovation

We're still rennovating, this room is going to be a second lounge/playroom/office/sewing room!!!

We're using reclaimed skirting boards/door frames we were given from a neighbour.
The old paint has to be scraped off which takes a looong time

Here you can see where a bench (we think) has once been many years ago.

I love seeing all the different types of wallpaper from the different eras : )
We're waiting for a plumber to fix a new radiator then hopefully we can finish this room off in the next month or so!
